Most people in the business will tell you not to shoot your family and friend’s weddings. Well, I’ve said to hell with that and made a lot of my initial business by doing just that. To tell you the truth, I’m really glad I have.
I was asked to shoot Danielle and Josh’s wedding within a few days of them getting engaged, I think. Danielle is Haley’s older sister, whose wedding I shot the previous year. You can view that gallery Here. I was actually expecting the call once I heard Danielle and Josh the good news, and it was a definitive, “DUH!” when they officially asked me.
Fast forward to the big weekend and I can’t tell you how much fun we all had. It was a long day for me, 6AM to 10PM, and I was exhausted at the end, but it was so worth it. The wedding was in Hendersonville, NC with the reception at the Highland Lake & Resort Inn, and let me tell you – the mountains in late October are freaking gorgeous.
Big congratulations to Danielle and Josh! I’m so happy and proud of you guys! I also can’t wait for your move so that you’re only 1.5 hours away instead of 3! I plan on being a much more obnoxious cousin now that you’re closer. You have been warned….
Here are my favorite images from Danielle and Josh’s big day.
